Dryad by SashaFitzgerald Dryad by SashaFitzgerald
My newest painting is finally finished! :la:

There's so much I could say about this piece and my experience painting it.

I used a mixture of watercolours, ink, and pencil crayons, and really just had fun with the piece. I also tried a bit of a different "more toned down" colour scheme (at least for me haha).

Anyway, I really hope you guys like it, and if you have any title suggestions, I'd love to hear them, cause plain ol' dryad is just boring. =P

Haha me too! I believe the style you're thinking of is 'Golden Illustration'. You'd probably also like Arthur Rackham's illustrations, as well as Alphonse Mucha's.

The style is influenced by Japanese linework and aesthetic, as well as the art nouveau movement, and printing processes of the time. :)

If you'd like to see more illustrations in this style, I recommend checking out one of my favourite clubs on dA: [link]
