Hello! I’m Sasha, a Canadian artist living on the rainy West Coast.
I love to paint strong, magickal women. They may be witches, living in a modern or fantastical world, with their loyal familiars by their side, or punk girls with body mods and tattooes. I am inspired by nature, art nouveau, anime, bones and other oddities, the metaphysical, fantasy, and sometimes creepy things too. My tools are watercolour and ink, and touches of gold. I’d love to experiment more with gouache and oils in the future.
My favourite artists are Audra Auclair, Kmye Chan, Audrey Kawasaki, Nomi Chi, Andi Macka, Felix Abel Klaer (SuperStarFighter), Sam Guay, Nikolas Tower, Arthur Rackham, Brian Froud, and of course, the king of Art Nouveau, Alphonse Mucha.
In my personal life, I live with a severe anxiety disorder (generalized anxiety disorder), that affects all aspects of my life. After a long period of ‘not doing well’, I have reached a good period in my life, where I feel ready to tackle weight loss (already lost 62 pounds, with a lot more to go), my independence, and the pursuit of an art career.
I’m on a journey to find my place in the world.
