Snow White by SashaFitzgerald Snow White by SashaFitzgerald
Here she is! May I present, Snow White (and the Evil Queen). This one took a lot longer than I expected. I used more saturated colour than I'd originally planned, and there's a looooot of details haha! Hope you guys like! :)

Watercolour, ink, and a little pencil crayon and marker.

Please do not copy, reproduce or sell my art!

*ps: I'm well aware that the castle is insanely crooked. Blame it on the evil queen having a tantrum. ;)

Ahh fair enough. Facebook pretty much erases any privacy. I have some stupidly crazy pics up on mine, which shouldn't be visible to all the people on my facebook, but am too lazy to change them lol.

Tumblr's pretty neat. I recently got one. It's a good way to share your work. ^_^ I also blog quite a bit on blogger, which is tons of fun! XD

Well I only really talked to like five people on Facebook. The rest was just people I kinda knew but didn't necessarily even like. I was like screw this. I don't need some employer using this against me one day. xD I just chat with my friends on Skype and blog on tumblr most of the time instead.

Yeah I've heard of employers doing that... very weird. I guess you have to be more careful these days. Hows life been?

Life's been going pretty good. I've been doing a comic for this guy Eric Borden for the past few months for some pretty decent pay. My first 'real' client I should say. xD Wanting to save up and get my butt back in school.

How's it goin with you?

That's awesome news!! :excited:
Nothing that exciting going on here. Thinking about pursuing storybook illustration, among many other things. Jewelry biz is going decently this xmas season which is good. ^_^

It reminds me more of the "Snow Queen" tale, when Gerta is asleep in the witch's garden and almost forgets herself and about rescuing Kay. Here, she looks a bit sassy and modern-gothic, but one could also take from this that her dreams are troubled.
Your watercolors are gorgeous, a nice mix of hard and soft, along with the dry applications and wet washes! The crystals are especially gorgeous. They appear sharp yet are so subtly shaded and inked.

Thanks so much for your thoughtful comment! :)
I agree, it definitely has a snow queen feel. Maybe I was channeling that fairy tale instead!? =p

I really like how the crystals turned out too. I inked them lightly, painted them, and then went over the lines with a white gel pen to get a lighter, barely there, effect. I also added a bit of white gouache to give them a milky, semi-transparent appearance. ^_^

I like your process, and now I'm thinking of ways to add crystals into images so I can apply it. Thank you for the description!
